Genetic Disorders

Any kind of mutations in the gene can cause genetic disorders. Genetic Disorders are generally hereditary in nature. However, they can also occur due to lifestyle.

The most commonly found genetic disorders are:

1. Mutations in a Single Gene. e.g. Sickle Cell Anemia
2. Mutations in a Chromosome. e.g. Down Syndrome
3. Mutations in Multiple (Two or more) Genes e.g. Colon Cancer

DSS has multitude of solutions for genetic disorders from Abbott Molecular’s flagship Vysis FISH Probe – AneuVysion (for abnormalities 13, 18, 21, X & Y genes) to Melt Assays and other MLPA Probes (eg. DMD-1 / DMD-2) from MRC Holland.
